Student Spotlight: Josh Riddle

Josh Riddle is a 14-year-old freshman at Middle Creek High School. Josh runs cross country and track in the winter. He says, “Cross country allows me to hang out with friends and get better at running.” He participated in a couple of varsity races and did fairly well. He said it was a good experience. He says he wants to run for all four years of high school.

Josh aspires to become a computer developer

While in school, Josh likes the Microsoft Excel honors course taught by Mr. Dunston. He likes to work with computers and learn skills that are useful in the real world. “I like to solve problems with friends in this class.”


Another class Josh takes is Intro to Computer Science. After high school he wants to become a computer developer and make software. He wants to follow the route Middle Creek provides, which involves taking multiple computer classes.


Josh wants to go to NC State and major in computer science to help him become a developer. Next year he will be taking pre-calculus as a sophomore and is proud that his math teacher recommended him for it. Next year he wants to do tutoring . He explains,“I can have something to do after school, and I want to help people”



When asked what he likes about Middle Creek, Josh says, “A thing I like about Middle Creek is that there are lots of clubs and sports so I can really be part of the community. The people are very friendly, and you can join a club and they make you feel welcome.” When football is in season, he goes to the games and enjoys being around other people.


In all, he enjoys the opportunities he is given at Middle Creek and the community.
