Hailey Esser is a sophomore at Middle Creek High School who plays on the varsity soccer team. Hailey Esser has been playing soccer since she was three years old. ”I have been playing club soccer all my life, and this is my second year playing high school soccer.”
Hailey had a great freshman season with eight goals and made second-team all conference. Regarding her goals this season, Hailey says, “My goals this season are to have 10 goals and to improve from last year.” She also wants to make first-team all conference. She currently has seven goals and needs three more to reach her goal.
After taking a tough loss in the second round of the playoffs last year, they hope to compete for a championship this year. They are currently 11-2-3, and they are second in the conference.
One of Hailey’s favorite moments from this year? “When we beat Holly Springs 4-0 at their home field.”
When she is not playing soccer, she is working out or spending time with family and friends at the beach. She also likes to bake in her free time. Hailey has one sister, and they played together on the team last year. Hailey said, “It was fun playing with my older sister; that is something we always dreamed of.”
Middle Creek’s head soccer coach, Coach Coleman, values what Hailey brings to the team. “Hailey is a sophomore starter. She is always working hard, always working to get better. She is a very dominant player. She is always encouraging her teammates to get better.”
When I asked several of her teammates what it is like playing with Hailey, they said that she is a very tough player and brings a lot of energy to the team.
Good luck to Hailey and the rest of the team as they enter the playoffs!
