Across the vast variety of students at Middle Creek High School, some stand out. These students work unbelievably hard and are willing to give their absolute best effort to do as well as they can. One of these standout students is 17-year-old junior Bella Russell.
Bella is a top student academically, ranking 22nd in the junior class with a 4.44 GPA. This is a result of the various AP classes that Bella has taken, such as Calculus (AB & BC), APES, and Lang/Research, which hasn’t been accounted for yet in her final GPA since it’s a year-long course.
Apart from school academics, Bella also takes part in several extracurricular activities, too. She has played lacrosse for three years and is the current captain of the Varsity team. She also ran cross country and track in her sophomore year. Bella is a member of NHS, Science Olympiad, Women's Empowerment (in her freshman and sophomore years), and Math Honors Society.
Bella plays sports outside of school, too. She is a competitive Ultimate Frisbee player. Last month, Bella was allowed the chato try out for the U20 United States National Women’s frisbee team, and she did the unthinkable. She made the team, and was given the opportunity to travel worldwide while representing our country.
“Practices will be on weekends in June, most likely in Colorado,” she explains. Practice is incredibly important, as the team will be competing in the World Junior Ultimate Championship in Poland. “The week before the tournament in Poland we have a week-long training camp together.” Bella is excited to begin practice with her new team and is keen to see how well her team can perform.
Bella Russell is the ideal image of a perfect student. Not only does she have stunning grades, but she also loves to support her school. Clubs and athletics are important to her just as much as academics, and it’s exciting to see such a hard-working student shaping her future as she continues to push herself further and further.
