On Wednesday, February 2nd, 2022, Travis Scott dropped two brand new shoes with Nike Airmax. In the past, Travis Scott has had a lot of different types of collaborations when it comes to clothing, the biggest one being Nike x Jordan. Travis Scott’s first shoe was released back in 2017, and it became a very popular shoe. As of right now, a pair of Travis Scott x Air Jordan 1 Retro High Mocha OG are selling for around $2,000. That’s about the lowest shoe price so far. Travis Scott has also had some non-clothing brand deals, such as a concert in Fortnite and his very own meal at McDonald’s. Many people still have their receipt from the meal and some people are selling it.
The last shoe drop was a big one for Travis Scott, especially after everything that happened in the past few months with him and the deadly Astroworld concert. At his concert on November 5, unfortunately 10 people died and 300 people were injured.
After this tragic incident, Travis Scott received a lot of backlash, saying that he should have stopped the concert. Ever since that incident, Travis Scott’s popularity has plummeted, and he had to delay his new shoe drop from December 16.
When asked his thoughts on the Travis Scott situation, Middle Creek student Kieran Murray replied, “It was sad to see but I believe Travis Scott will make a comeback.” He believes the new shoe will sell quickly.
In conclusion, Travis Scott did make an apology video saying that he was deeply sorry for the fans that lost their lives. The last shoe drop is the only thing that Travis Scott has done recently to try and grow his brand and could be the only thing we see for a while from him.
