Student Spotlight: Nathan Spence

Nathan Spence is a 17-year-old Senior at Middle Creek High School. Nathan was born on July 20, 2004, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He plays baseball and basketball at Middle Creek.

Nathan plans to attend North Carolina State University after high school and major in engineering. Nathan's current favorite class is Lifetime Sports with Ms. Piccirillo. He says, “I get to cruise with my home dawgs and play sports.”

After Nathan goes to NC State University, he wants to either become an astronaut, engineer, or become an NBA player. Nathan wants to “go to the moon” and “explore outer space.” Nathan plans to “have a family of five” when asked about his future after college.

When asked why he chose basketball and baseball, he said, “I chose basketball and baseball because of how everyone has to work together in order to score. I like that it isn’t a one-man game and that each player has to bring in their own attributes in order to win.”

Nathan’s favorite basketball player is Michael Jordan. When asked who is better, Michael Jordan or Lebron James, he stated, “Michael Jordan is obviously better than Lebron since he was a better scorer and overall better player.” He also stated that, “People are crazy if you think Lebron is better.”

Nathan enjoys reading comic books and other kids books. Nathan’s favorite book is Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Rodrick Rules by Jeff Kinney. His favorite type of music is pop, specifically Taylor Swift.

Overall, Nathan is very energetic and fun to be around. He is a very funny guy and is friends with everyone.
