Matthew Hare is a 15-year-old sophomore here at Middle Creek. Matthew is a chill person who enjoys and is really good at playing the guitar. Matthew has played the guitar for almost eight months, and it has become one of his favorite hobbies outside of school. He also is experienced in drumming and bass. Matthew’s three favorite songs to listen to are “Cowboys from Hell” by Pantera, “Davidian” by Machine Head, and “Dig” by Mudvayne. His three favorite songs to play are “This Love” by Pantera, “Seek and Destroy” by Metallica, and “Raining Blood” by Slayer. His biggest inspiration is Dime-bag Darrell, a 38-year-old musician who was killed during a show in 2004.
Matthew describes his freshman year as how many of us would through the peak of Covid: “pretty rough.” Matthew's favorite class is gym and “would recommend it to everyone.” Matthew enjoys his time at Middle Creek one day at a time and will most definitely continue to enjoy it in the future. Matthew’s favorite part of the school is the annexes. “It's like being outside but inside.” He also enjoys “talking to people and making friends.”
Matthew is also one to travel, notably to the mountains of North Carolina or Texas. His favorite place he's been to is the Florida Keys. Matthew's favorite things about the Keys are snorkeling and scuba diving. Outside of the states, Matthew has been to Mexico and the Bahamas. Matthew also loves to go on road trips and have fun at the beach. To the people that want to travel more or don't usually travel, whether it's from state to state or country to country, Matthew says, “Do it! It is something that can help get away from stress.”
Matthew has been swimming for most of his life and plans on joining the Middle Creek swim team. To anyone considering joining the swim team, Matthew says, “The swim team is fun and can help your health.” Even if you are new and looking to try it out, it will be fun and a good experience. One thing Matthew says to all new swimmers is “swimming is all about being as fast as you can, not necessarily beating others.” Matthew swims at RSA and recommends it highly to anyone. “It is very good; one of the best in the area, if not the best.”
Matthew says the one thing he can be described as by all his peers is “charismatic, funny and an all-around nice guy.” The one thing everyone likes in a classmate, friend, and student is their character., and Matthew is a high-character guy.
