Chika Nwugo is a 16-year-old junior at Middle Creek High School. Chika was born on January 2nd in Ohio. Chika is half Nigerian and half Polish. Before high school Chika went to Holly Ridge Middle School.
Chika played the saxophone in the school band in his first year of high school but quickly lost interest in it. Chika has also played soccer most of his life. Chika tells me, ”I am actually 5’11 but tell people I'm 6 feet tall.” At 5 '11, Chika is a very fast and athletic player. While being an athlete, Chika thrives in school. He is taking multiple college classes in just his junior year.
Chika plans to attend North Carolina State University after high school. He plans to major in engineering and minor in business, both of which fit his personality perfectly. Chika already owns his own software business and is in a very advanced math class. Chika’s current favorite class is Spanish with Ms. Hamrick. He says, ”I really connect with my teacher and the others in that class.”
Chika enjoys reading and superhero movies. Chika’s favorite book is Frindle by Andrew Clements, and his favorite superhero is Spiderman. Chika also loves music. His favorite genre is rap, he specifically enjoys listening to Playboi Carti. His all-time favorite artist is Michael Jackson.
After Chika goes to NC State and becomes an engineer, he wants to move to Texas for the cheap land values there. His favorite season in North Carolina has been winter.
Chika is a great, down-to-earth guy who makes friends with everyone. It seems like everywhere we go, Chika knows somebody. Being friendly and having connections with a lot of people will help him a lot in the future if he decides to pursue his own business. Chika is a great student and a great person. He is surely destined to go far in life!
