Spring break: we can't wait!

Spring break vacation is a big event for teenagers in school, especially Middle Creek students. It is a time of the year when you have an entire week to do whatever you want, whether that's traveling, hanging out with friends, or just chilling at home with the family. Spring break usually occurs in the months of March or April, depending on the year. Since the break is in the spring, many people decide to go to warm places or hang out outside if they are staying home.

Brooke Starritt, a freshman at Middle Creek, filled us in on her favorite spring break vacation spots. When asked, Brooke says that her favorite spring break vacation spot within driving distance is “Atlantic beach, because I always go there and there is a lot to do.” Starritt told us that when she has to fly for spring break she goes to Florida. “It's very pretty and there are so many beaches you can go to.” Brooke's dream vacation spot is Hawaii! She said, “I've seen lots of pictures and it looks very pretty and very fun!”

Avery Stalls is a 14-year-old at Middle Creek who loves spring break, too. When asked, Avery says that her favorite spring break spot within driving distance is Wilmington, North Carolina. “It's the closest beach and there's a lot to do.” When Avery gets on a plane to go somewhere for spring break she said it is usually Miami. “My uncle lives there and it's really pretty.” When asked, Stalls said she would love to visit Turks and Caicos “because you can snorkel there and I love snorkeling.”

Freshman Maryn Nietschmann shared with us how she spends her spring break. Nietschmann told us that she loves to go to Atlantic beach when she has to drive somewhere for spring break because her friend has a beach house there. What if she hops on a plane? “The Bahamas. I like the tropical feel of the Bahamas and how warm it is.” Maryn’s dream vacation spot is Hawaii. “I want to go to Hawaii because the water is clear, it's pretty, and warm.”

Freshman Grant Klein usually visits the Outer Banks when he’s looking for somewhere within driving distance. “We have a house there in Avon and we always go with friends.” When Klein gets on a plane for spring break, he also travels to the Bahamas. Grant said he also likes to go to Belleair, Florida, for spring break vacation. If he could visit any place in the world for the break he said he would go to the Greek Isles “because there's a lot of cool beaches that you can't find here”.

My favorite place to go for spring break is Wrightsville Beach. This is my favorite place within driving distance because it has many tourist attractions and warm sand. There are many beach shops on the island and many places to stop and get some cold ice cream on a hot day. You can go out on the pier or swim in the ocean. Many of my family members live on Wrightsville Beach, so it's always nice to see them. You can never get bored! Everything there is within walking distance or biking distance, so there's no need for a car.

This year it seems like everyone is looking forward to the long break in April!
