Middle Creek Students Express Themselves Through Fashion

Fashion is a very big part of our lives. We use it to express ourselves. We wear what we want because it makes us feel good about ourselves. Fashion is just a way of life to some people. Middle Creek students are no exception, including juniors Lex Orso and Jack Spano. I interviewed both of them to discuss their fashion choices.

Lex Orso said her biggest outfit inspiration is Emma Chamberlain. She states that she's “been watching and listening to her since 8th grade.” Orso says she shops the most at Holy Mountain Printing, and she has a favorite shop in Los Angeles. Orso says that she “doesn't have a favorite brand because she mostly thrifts.” Her favorite accessories are jewelry, especially rings. Her favorite ring is special to her because someone important gave it to her. Orso’s favorite shoe brand is Doc Martens. Her favorite shoes are a pair of Doc Martens low rise shoes. If she had a million dollars to spend anywhere at any clothing stores or websites, she would donate some of the money to stores that take their money and send it to a good organization, but she would also go to “different thrift stores and consignment shops.”

I also interviewed Jack Spano. Spano says that he gets his inspiration from skeletons and human anatomy. He shops at various different online websites and at the mall. He says that his favorite store to shop at is Dark Matter. He also says his favorite accessories are rings and his favorite ring is one he made. His favorite shoe brand is also Doc Martens. If he had a million dollars, the shops he would go to are Hot Topic and Fun.com because “they have cool sweaters, Bilal Cabal, and Into the Fire jewelry.”

Students should always be able to express themselves. Fashion is one way to do it. I encourage all students to try something new, wear what they want, and express themselves through clothing.
