Adobe Digital Media Academy Offers Students Unique Opportunities

The Middle Creek Adobe Digital Media Academy is a four-year program combining Digital Media and English courses with hands-on experiences designed to prepare students for the workforce with the latest software and equipment, all while creating new memories and friendships that will last a lifetime. Current sophomore member Josie Frankie said, “The experience and friendship you get to create in The Academy is something you will truly never forget.”

The Academy provides students with great opportunities such as field trips, job shadowing, mentoring, demonstrations, and internships. In addition, students perfect their presentation and public speaking skills. Taking in all these opportunities, students completing the program will be equipped with skills needed to succeed in college and their careers and will stand apart from other job or college applicants. Juliana Giardina, a senior involved in The Academy, stated that “even if I don’t go into digital media as a career, every single skill I have learned will help me in the future no matter what I do.”

Not only do students get great opportunities, they are also taught by some of the best teachers. Career Academy Coordinator Ms. Glover and CTE teachers Mr. Petty and Mr. Maldonado work alongside English teachers Mr. Williams and Ms. DaSilva to teach new technical skills and life lessons.

In addition, there are some great clubs associated with Digital Media. Sports Block and Skills USA are clubs that allow students to showcase the abilities and knowledge learned and practiced in class. Getting involved in student clubs is a great way to experience education in a fun and different way.

Every Academy student interviewed recommends The Academy for future students. “Oh 100 percent. I have learned so much and created friends I will never forget,” Frankie said. Giardina noted, “The course can be stressful, but to see the outcome of everything we do makes it all worth it.” Maddie Sheridan, a senior in The Academy, strongly recommends it to future students. “This academy opens so many doors for you with its unique opportunities.”
