Clothing styles are a big trend in the teenage community and kids express themselves with clothing. TikTok is a really big inspiration for fashion ideas for teenagers and even for parents. There are different genres of clothing and styles. Some are hot goth, street wear, ethnic fashion style, sports wear, and more. My personal favorite is street wear. Some clothes that are trending specifically are jeans, Air Force Ones, mom jeans, hoodies, gym shorts, leggings, graphic tees, and oversized clothing.
Kevin Santoyo, 14, goes to Middle Creek High School and loves fashion. When I interviewed him, we were in the cafeteria. He was wearing a grey sweater with shorts on. One place he shops to get clothes is at Ross because, ”My Uncle works there so sometimes I can get free stuff.” When he shops at Ross his basic color he dresses with is blue and/or grey. Kevin likes the trending styles this year and says,” A lot of them are really cool but some are not my type.” He has stated the clothing and styles over the years have dramatically changed. “I like this year's styles more than last year’s.” Kevin then says that he might change his style before the end of the year.
At Middle Creek, I see a lot of sports fashion, which consists of gym shorts and some kind of t-shirt, usually sports related. For girls, I see a lot of vintage jeans or some kind of patterned sweater or shirt. I also see goth, which is anything black, and street wear, which consists of oversized clothing like sweaters or pants. For some people, like Billie Eilish, oversized clothing allows them to be fashionable while not revealing too much of their bodies.
Since fall and winter are right around the corner, we need some fashion styles. Some fashion trends will be cargo pants and graphic sweaters. For the spring cheer, a buttoned up shirt with some brown jeans with white shoes would also be very stylish . During the winter, a lot of street wear, such as baggy pants and sweaters, would be cozy and fashionable. Or you know what, just wear some pajamas!
