The now-famous Madden video game was first released in 1989 with an original title of John Madden's Football. It worked on the Nintendo and Sega Genesis platforms. Ever since the original was released, we have seen a wide variety of names and gameplay changes. That trend continues this year with Madden 22’s new features and gameplay. Altogether, this is a great game that you could play solo or enjoy a nice match against your friends.
Gameplay Changes:
Throughout the different editions of the Madden football games, we see many changes, which is what keeps the game fun and brings people back to play it year after year. One of the main things the developers have done throughout the years is improving graphics to make the game look more and more realistic. Sometimes when I play it gets confusing because it feels and looks so realistic and true to NFL gameplay. In the past couple years some of the main things added to Madden have been The Yard and Superstar KO. The Yard is a feature where players create themselves as if they are in the game. Superstar KO allows you and your friends to select star players and build a team around them. Then, you compete against others head-to-head online.
Madden 21 or 22?
Madden 22 is the superior game for many different reasons, but mainly because of the new roster updates. The reason I continue to play Madden throughout the years is to play with my favorite NFL players. It is the most realistic football game that makes you feel like you are the coach and the team all at once. In the new Madden 22 we see up-to-date rosters, with all the new rookies and players on their new teams. Also, the game has improved chemistry, as we see the players and teams begin to have more emotion.
Heath Rogers, a junior at Middle Creek, agrees that Madden 22 is a better game than Madden 21. He is a very big Seattle Seahawks fan who loves playing fantasy football with his friend. For him, the updated graphics and constant changes they do throughout the season are what put Madden 22 at the top. One of his new favorite features also includes the numbers updated throughout football. The NFL allowed players like wide receivers and linebackers to use single digits. As Heath is a college football fanatic, it brings back memories of those players in their college uniforms.
Summing it all up…
Overall, EA continues to impress with how they adapt to the changes in sports and make an amazing game every year. I will proceed to get the new Maddens each year, and football fans and gamers everywhere should do the same.
This was great, Maxx!
