Reviewria: A Review of Terraria

Terraria is a 2D game where you can “Dig, fight, explore and build.” In this survival craft genre game, you start your world with three items: a copper shortsword, a pickaxe, and an axe. After you cut down the surrounding forest and build basic items, you start exploring. Quickly you find out how this game is based around combat and exploration, as certain areas are more dangerous than others.

Terraria has a lot of exploring. One area you will find yourself in often is the caves. These are full of valuable resources for weapons and tools, but they are very dangerous so you have to proceed with caution. Pick and choose your fights, and don't be careless until you can properly defend yourself unless you don't mind dying a lot!

Combat is another vital part of Terraria. There are four damage types for you to base your character around: melee, ranged, magic, and summon. Each playstyle is unique and has its challenges. To get started before you make a world you have three difficulties: Normal, Expert, and Master. Each is much more challenging than the other but with unique awards.

After a while, you may want to challenge yourself to a boss fight. Many of them are difficult and give you great rewards for beating them. For example, once you release the ancient spirits by defeating the world’s master itself, the difficulty increases dramatically, with way harder-hitting enemies and harder bosses, but with greater rewards.

Overall Terraria is a very fun game you should look into playing. I personally give it 7.5/10 just because of the linear gameplay. I hope I got you hooked on a new game and my review helped change your opinion on it!
