Logan Paul suing Floyd Mayweather

On Sunday, June 6th, 2021, Logan Paul got in the ring with one of the best boxers ever, Floyd Mayweather. The fight was one of the most anticipated events of the summer. The matchup between the two was one of the weirder boxing matchups we have seen so far. Usually, we see two social media influencers fight or an influencer and a famous non-boxing athlete.

Everybody thought that Logan Paul was crazy for this. He was going against a boxer that was undefeated in his boxing career. The only thing that Logan Paul had on his side was his size. Compared to Floyd Mayweather, Logan Paul giant, weighing in at 6’2” 190 lbs compared to Floyd’s 5’8” 150 lbs.

The two fighters agreed that it would be an exhibition match, meaning that there would be no winner or loser, but they could still knock each other out. Many fans were upset by this, but in the end, everybody just wanted to see them fight. After the fight, both sides believed that they had won the fight, but that's not what sparked the controversy.

The big problem that came after the fight was that Floyd Mayweather never paid Logan Paul. According to Paul, Floyd Mayweather still owes him a lot of money from the fight. The fight alone sold over one million pay-per-views, which Logan Paul had a lot to do with. According to Complex, Floyd Mayweather said, “To them, that’s real money, and I like the YouTubers. The money on the back end though, from pay-per-view, takes a while. Nothing comes right away. I’m still collecting checks from fights seven or eight years ago. They just hate when the table is turned. Be happy with the biggest payday you ever got in your life.” Now Logan Paul is suing Floyd for owing him an estimated amount of $5 million. Paul didn’t want it to come to this, but he said he had no choice.

Both sides have been heard, and it will probably be a long time until results are out. If Paul is telling the truth and Floyd hasn’t paid, then legal action should be taken. However, if Floyd is telling the truth about the money coming slowly, then it changes everything and no lawsuit should be filed.
