Imagine Dragons is coming to Raleigh

Imagine Dragons, the pop-rock band straight out of Las Vegas, is currently on tour and will be coming to PNC Arena in Raleigh on February 10, 2022 at 7:00 PM. VIP seats will be in the $249.00 to $729.00 price range, while standard admission seats will be priced at $54.50 per seat.

Who are Imagine Dragons?

Imagine Dragons is a band from “Las Vegas, Nevada, consisting of lead vocalist Dan Reynolds, lead guitarist Wayne Sermon, bassist Ben McKee, and drummer Daniel Platzman.”

Dan Reynolds started getting people together in a band and in 2008, he met Andrew Tolman at Brigham Young University and later added Andrew Beck, Dave Lemke, and Aurora Florence to play guitar, bass, and piano. A year later, in 2009, Tolman recruited Wayne Sermon, who had graduated from Berklee College of Music. After Lemke left, Sermon recruited another Berklee student, Ben McKee, to be the bassist. Andrew Tolman and his wife Brittany eventually left the group, and in 2011, Daniel Platzman would be recruited in August of 2011 by McKee. Once Platzman, McKee, and Sermon were recruited, Imagine Dragons had all its current members.

They got exposure with their single “It’s Time,” and then in 2012, their debut album, Night Visions, was released. Their second album, Smoke + Mirrors, was released in 2015. In 2017, when their third album, Evolve, was released, the album resulted in three successful singles: “Believer” “Thunder,” and “Whatever It Takes.” Their fourth album, Origins, was released in 2018, and the first singles off the album were “Zero” and “Natural.” Imagine Dragons have sold 12 million albums and 35 million singles worldwide.

At a live show, you can expect lots of lights, smoke, and a lot of fans just having a good time, enjoying the music, and wanting to high-five Dan Reynolds. Their music is packed full of really perfect lyrics. For example, the first lines of the song that got me introduced to Imagine Dragons, “Believer,” are: “First things first, I’ma say all the words inside my head, I’m fired up and tired of the way that things have been oh-ooh, the way that things have been oh-ooh.” The first lyrics from another song that I like, “Machine,” are: “All my life been sittin’ at the table, watchin’ ‘em kids, they’re living in a fable, looks, luck, money, and never left a’wishin’, but now it’s ‘bout time to raise up and petition.”

Imagine Dragons have won a single Grammy, three American Music Awards, nine Billboard Music Awards, one World Music Award, and one MTV Video Music Award.
