If you didn't know, Cobra Kai is a spin-off TV series based on the movie The Karate Kid, which came out in the ‘80s. In this show, set 30 years later than the movie, the two main characters have dueling dojos where their students battle each other in fights throughout the show and at the all-valley tournament at the end of each season. The show started on Youtube Red in 2018 and made its way to Netflix in 2020. Since then its popularity has rapidly grown and season four of the show just recently came out. With this comes the question: when will season five be released?
We know that the new season has been filmed and will be released, but nobody knows the exact date. Previously, seasons three and four were released on New Year’s Day and New Year’s Eve. The best we can do is hope that the pattern remains the same and it will come out by the end of this year or sooner.
At the end of season four, Terry Silver betrayed his partner, John Crease, whom he taught at Cobra Kai. This has caused so many unanswered questions about the series that many viewers are dying to know, such as if Miguel will find his father in Mexico, if there will be any new members added to the teams, if any new relationships will form, what will happen to John Crease, and if Larusso’s son will finally end up learning karate to battle Cobra Kai’s newest member, Kenny.
In an interview with Angie Freeman, a junior at Middle Creek High School, she was asked questions to find out what viewers were looking for in the upcoming season. When asked what her favorite part of season four was, she said, “My favorite part was definitely episode 10 when Sam was fighting against Tory and she used both Danny and Johnny’s techniques as a whole.” She was also asked what she was most looking forward to in season five. She said, “I’m looking forward to how Danny and Johnny will take care of the problems with Crease and how both of the dojos will combine once and for all.” Many people are wondering the same things when it comes to the new season.
These are all questions we are going to have to wait to find the answers to, along with the rumors that season five will be the final season of this show. It is hard to tell when the show will release its finale season since it seems that the tensions have never been higher. For now, Cobra Kai’s seasons one through four are available on Netflix and we are waiting on the trailer for season five to be released.
