After much anticipation, Drake has dropped Certified Lover Boy. It ended up having features from 21 Savage, Future, Giveon, JAY-Z, Kid Cudi, Lil Baby, Lil Durk, Lil Wayne, Project Pat, Rick Ross, Tems, Travis Scott, Ty Dolla $ign, and Young Thug. Currently on metacritic it has a rating of 3.5, which is his lowest metacritic rating to date.
In its first week the album sold 613,000 thousand units, which is a lot more than the majority of big artists such as Kanye West and J.Cole. Despite the negative rating the album still had 153.4 million streams on day 1 and 89.9 million streams on day 2. It broke the single-day streaming record for an album on Apple Music.
Some individual songs also did well, like “Girls Want Girls,” featuring Lil Baby, which had 12.4 million streams and had Spotify's biggest debut ever. His album recently passed the gold threshold on September 9th, selling over 500 thousand units, and on September 27th it hit platinum, which means it has sold over a million records. This now marks Drake's 10th album to reach 1 million streams and become platinum.
On week 3, Drake’s “Way 2 Sexy'' is still ranked number one on the Rolling Stone’s Top 100 Songs Chart, and his songs “Knife Talk,” featuring 21 savage, “Girls Want Girls,” featuring Lil Baby, and “Fair Trade,” featuring Travis Scott are all also on the list.
The album currently has 744 million streams, and around 29 million of those streams are from his music videos. According to HitsDailyDouble, Drake's album is set to sell 220 thousand units in the second week, which is more than the majority of current day rappers. Due to this album, Drake is currently ranked 4th in the Global Artist Digital Ranking. On the same website his album is shown to be ranked as number one on the South African iTunes chart, number two on the Moldova charts, number three on the Canada charts and in the Cayman Islands, number four in the United States, and number five in Barbados and Belize.
His song “Way 2 Sexy” is ranked tenth on the US iTunes charts and fourth on the US Youtube charts. His song “Fair Trade” ranked number 187 on the US iTunes charts and number 18 on the US Youtube charts.
