Denver Broncos Season Preview

Last season the Broncos had a really bad season, going 5-11 and placing last in the division. Because of this, they needed a strong draft. Two of their best picks of the draft were Patrick Surtain II, a cornerback from Alabama, and Javonte Williams, a running back from the University of North Carolina.

One thing about the Denver Broncos is they have a very bad quarterback situation right now because Drew Lock is young but inconsistent and Teddy Bridgewater hasn’t had a good season in a while. The quarterback last season for the Broncos was Drew Lock, but prior to the 2021 draft, the Carolina Panthers traded Bridgewater to the Broncos. After this year's pre-season Bridgewater was announced as the starter over Drew Lock. In the first game of the season against the New York Giants Bridgewater went 28/36, throwing for 264 yards and 2 touchdowns.

Some people are mad at Vic Fangio, the head coach of the Broncos because on the official Broncos YouTube page he said ”I have confidence that Drew [Lock] can continue to improve” but isn’t giving him the chance. If the quarterback situation is still bad for the Broncos next year, hopefully, the Broncos can get Aaron Rodgers next season.

The offense is also really good, but unfortunately, Jerry Jeudy got injured in the first game so he’s out a couple of games. One person who did well was Melvin Gordan, rushing for 101 yards and a touchdown. They also have really good tight ends that made clutch plays.

The Broncos’ defense has really good cornerbacks and defensive linemen, especially now that Von Miller is back from his injury. In the first game, the D-line did a good job putting a lot of pressure on the quarterback and making him throw it away or make a bad pass.

The Broncos have a really good and young team, so they have a chance of making it far in the playoffs or even to the Super Bowl. The schedule this season is pretty easy, so they should have no problem finishing second in the division. Games they need to win are against the Raiders or the Chargers because they’re in the same division and if they lose to them, they could drop in the AFC West.

This season I think the Broncos will go 12-5, though I could see them going 10-7 in a worst-case scenario. The toughest matchups for them are the Chiefs, Ravens, Browns, and the Steelers.
