Country music has always had a history in North Carolina. It has been played and broadcasted throughout the state. From the 1930s to today, much of it has been recorded here. The Radio Corporation of America (RCA) was one of the first to make country recordings in Charlotte, NC. Since then this genre has taken off, and many amazing artists have been produced by this state, such as Charlie Daniels, Scotty McCreery, Luke Combs and Eric Church.
In the past couple of years, concerts all over the world have been canceled due to COVID-19, and just recently many concerts have been canceled because of the new Omicron variant. That being said, many artists around the world have had to hold virtual concerts or wait until mandates and guidelines are lifted to perform. On the bright side of this, it has allowed these artists the opportunity to work on their music and prepare to make these long-awaited concerts special for themselves and their supporters.
As for North Carolina music venues, there are many beautiful locations throughout the state. Some venues we have include Coastal Credit Union Music Park, an outdoor music venue that has held concerts for some of the biggest bands and artists in the world. It has a capacity of 20,000, making it ideal for summer concerts. Next, The Ritz, located in downtown Raleigh, is a smaller indoor venue with general admission only. This building has a capacity of around 2,000 people, but it is still very popular due to the many big-name artists that have played here. Lastly, Red Hat Amphitheater is located in the heart of downtown Raleigh. It holds around 6,000 people, and there are three options for either general admission, lawn and assigned seating.
These are the shows that will be playing in the following venues: Morgan Wallen on June 3rd, Luke Bryan on July 8th, Tim McGraw on May 21st, and Whiskey Meyers on July 9th, all at Coastal Credit Union Music Park. Dylan Scott will be performing on March 25th at The Ritz, and Chris Lane just recently performed there on February 25th. Finally, Cody Johnson will be performing at Red Hat Amphitheater on June 16th.
It's hard to tell if these shows in the next few months will go on since protocols change so quickly, but as of now things are looking up, as many public places are deciding to lift mask mandates and other Covid-related rules.
